The rubber strip is dome shaped with a tail on one side. The face that comes into contact with the ground is concave downwards before installation but it is flat after it has been fixed. The concavity is intended to ensure a close contact with the road surface and to prevent the edges of the strip curling upwards during use. The centre of the strip is hollow and there is a hole, through to the base, which takes the clip. In another form the strip an S shaped groove which fits over a similarly shaped hook embedded in the road surface. |
