<p>In the gasification and aeration of a flowing liq., the liquid is introduced tangentially into a conical cyclone chamber, where it is subjected to accelerated rotation leaving at the apex of the cone; simultaneously the air or gas is introduced under pressure at a number of different points, e.g. perforations, in the cyclone wall in a radial inward direction; within the cyclone, the air or gas is subjected both to the centrifugal field and also to the accelerated rotation as the liquid passes in a potential vortex from the wide to the narrow end of the cone; this subjects the bubbles to a shearing action which breaks them down into extremely small bubbles.</p> |
