<p>A sheet extrusion die can be fitted with clamps to hold wedges at intervals along the die mouth to divide the flow for prodn. of strips or tapes narrower than the die. Arrangement facilitates prodn. of various tape profiles from a common die; the positions of the wedges being adjustable to exactly control the tape width and the pattern of the wedge providing control of shape of the edge of the tape. The wedges may be integral with the clamps which fit over the die mouth. Wedges are fitted at each end of the die mouth, for control of the width and shape of the two extreme extruded strips.</p> |
