The fibrous mat may be of knitted fabric, woven fabric or non-woven fabric or these fabrics impregnated with an elastic polymer, in particular an entangled non-woven fabric impregnated with an elastic polymer. In a typical example (4), a sheet prepared by coagulation of a composite solution comprising fine particles of a polyurethane dispersed in a solution of another polyurethane is bonded to the buffed surface of a fibrous substrate comprising an entangled non-woven fabric composed of nylon- 6 fibres which had been produced from mixspun fibres, the fabric having been impregnated with a polyester based polyurethane and coagulated. Other suitable polymers for forming the composite solution are polyacrylic acid esters, acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymers, styrene - butadiene copolymers, polybutadiene, polyisoprene and acrylic acid ester copolymers.</p> |
