<p>An insulated roof has a layer of corrugated asbestos cement sheets spaced above a layer of overlapping panels of lighter manufacture and also with small corrugations for stiffness. The sheets are supported on Z shaped cross members, with a glass fibre insulating layer trapped between the spacers carrying the asbestos cement sheets and the lighter panels. These spacers are also made of asbestos cement and are of inverted U shape in cross section and are also corrugated to match the sheets above. The spacers are recessed at intervals for insertion of securing screws which engage the Z shapes cross members, also passing through the panels.</p> |
