A fixed contact electrode is used for fuse holders or switches. The contact is in the form of a two pronged fork into which the switch blade or fuse is forced to make contact. The basic fork structure (2) is made up from high conductivity material and it has groups o-f slots (11, 10, 14, 15) on the forward facing ends of the fork, at the root (6) of the fork and on the inside faces (14) of the fork. Sprung contact leaves (25, 17, 11) of silvered beryllium or some similar material have lipped edges such that they can be sprung into position on the fork. The contact leaves on the inside of the fork have cut and partially pressed out surfaces (18) to increase contact pressure.
|
