The holder is secured to the vehicle using a quick-fit coupling comprising at least one pin extending from the vehicle towards the luggage holder and at least one lock plate (20) on the holder. The pin has a reduced diameter over part of its length compared to the diameter at its free end (11). The lock plate contains an opening with a first width over a first part of its length for receiving the free end of the pin, and a relatively narrow second width over a second part of its length for receiving the narrow part of the pin when the holder is secured to the vehicle. The second width is less than the diameter of the free end of the pin.
