<p>After sepng. the residues in the normal manner by filtration, the liquor is further filtered by passing it through a supplementary filter based on silicaceous, diatomaceous, perlite earths or similar to remove at least any visible turbidity. The supplementary filtration overcomes turbidity problems arising from high prodn. rates e.g. up to 10 brews per day. The process enables treatment of 14-16 brews per day giving excellent quality beer. The filtration is good at the high temp. (about 75 degrees C) and the extra cost is offset by economy in isohumulones and hops.</p> |
