The nose pieces (7) of the spectacles are fixed on a wire frame (5) which has two legs (5b) which slot into bosses (11a) fixed to the lens part of the frame (1). The top of the wire frame (5) fits behind the spectacle frame nose bridge (2). From the top part of the wire frame (5) projects are partly screwed stud (5c). Over this stud (5c) is placed a spring (8) and then a cover (9). The screwed part (5d) of the stud projects through a slot (9f) formed in the cover (9). The cover (9) is clamped over the wire frame (5) by means of a knurled nut (12). The cover (9) also clips into the lens frames (1a). The noise pads (7) may be adjusted in the vertical direction by sliding the stud (5) up or down the slot (9f) in the cover (9).
