PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device that transfers an image signal only from pixels within a required angle of field according to a change in zoom. SOLUTION: The image pickup device provided with transfer means 11, 12 that sequentially transfer image signals generated by pixels two-dimensionally laid out in a pixel area 10 and supply means 13, 14 that supply an instruction signal to instruct start of transfer of the image signals to the transfer means 11, 12 is characterized by that the supply means 13, 14 are configured so as to select at least two pixels or over among the pixels as a transfer start destination of the image signals and supply the instruction signal to the transfer means 11, 12 by designating the pixels of the transfer start designation according to a change in zooming of the image.
