<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly and production system which has a short lead time and can prevent stocks from increasing owning to overproduction or sales chances from being lost owing to a stockout. SOLUTION: Market production is carried out up to intermediate products by a VMI (consignment stock) system and forecast presentation to component vendors, the stock holding style is changed to put the intermediate products in stock, and after an order is received, final assembly is carried out. The final assembly is completed by using the intermediate products, so the lead time can be made shorter than that of an individual order reception production system having more component stocks and sales chances can be prevented from being lost owing to a stockout. No products are in stock, so overproduction is eliminated unlike the production by speculation. Further, the intermediate products are increased in versatility and made usable for a plurality of products to flexibly comply with changing demands.</p> |
