Short circuit stabiliser for earth conductor - has stationary contact with current loop whose electrodynamic moment affects free end of moving contact

The device is intended for stabilising the switching-on position of an earthing switch in case of a short circuit. Its moving contact is in the form of a single-arm lever. The counter-contact (18) has a current loop whose electrodynamic moment affects the free end of the moving contact (2). Thus it acts counter the breaking moment caused by the short circuit. The arrangement forces the moving contact to remain in the switching-on position. Preferably the stationary counter contact (18) is conductively coupled to a shank (19) of a U-shaped holder (17), while it is secured insulatingly to the other shank (20). The current input is in the centre of the holder stirrup.
