Herein is described an irrigation system including a center pivot support having a main elongated water pump pivotally connected to the same which extends outwardly therefrom. An elongated extension pump is pivotally connected at its internal end to the external end of the main pump and is supported by a steerable drive tower. A corner sensor boom is provided to detect the extension pump angle with respect to the main pump. A plurality of first sprinklers is placed over the extension pump along the length thereof and a plurality of second sprinklers placed over the extension pump along the length thereof. The water that normally corresponds to the extreme gun at the external end of the extension pump is supplied to the second sprinkler during certain periods of time in which the extreme gun is not actuated.
