PURPOSE: To increase the releasing rate of blocking groups or the deblocking rate by incorporating such a compd. that is blocked and useful for photographic processes and that can rapidly release the photographically useful groups by the reaction with a bi-nucleophilic agent. CONSTITUTION: The photographic silver halide compsn. contains photographically useful groups(PUG) and new blocking groups. The blocking groups contain two electrophilic groups. These electrophilic groups are directly bonded to photographically useful groups or with a timing group interposed and has reactivity with a bi-nucleophilic agent. These two electrophilic groups are separated from each other with one bond or unsubtd. atom or substd. atom so that the nucleophilic substitution which accompanies release of photographically useful groups can be caused by photographic processing of the photographic silver halide compsn. In the presence of the bi-uncleophilic agent. Thereby, storage stability can be improved and the release rate can be increased during the photographic sensitive material is processed in the presence of the bi-nucleophilic agent.
