Flexible layer between two large foundation plates - has additional highly flexible sliding layer compensating distortions and tolerances

The building structure has two components of large surface area which are separated by a sliding layer. These two components can be moved relative to each other. The facing surfaces of the components can be made with wider tolerances, and local deviations from the flat form are compensated. Between the sliding layer (9) and one of the two components (1) is arranged mat made from material with high elastic deformability. This mat is used as electric spacing elements between support structure such as foundation plates or a bridge support structure. The thermal distortions are compensated by folds in the mat.
