<p>The grinding wheel (11) is fed in at right angles to the axis of rotation of the workpiece (12) to its smallest dia. After this, the grinding wheel is oscillated between the two opposing flat faces, so that the sides of the wheel cut these faces. The side faces of the grinding wheel are dressed for this machining operation. The side faces of the grinding wheel are dressed in such a way that they cut without a clearance angle. The width of the wheel is chosen so that it allows for dressing and grinding-wheel wear. The width after dressing is so that allowance is made for the amount of wear during cutting. During dressing, the wheel is moved axially between two dressing wheels (13).</p> |
