Electrohydraulic pressing with automatic wire supply - for electrode contact fed through chamber opening and cut off by knives inside chamber

Equipment for electrohydraulic pressing, which contains a non-movable plate with an explosion chamber mounted on it, inside which is an electrode. In the wall serving as the other electrode, an opening is formed for passage of an electrical connection wire, and, opposite the chamber side on which the die is pressed, the chamber has a step slightly smaller than the opening for the wire. Near this opening two knives for cutting the wire are present. One of these is fixed and the other can be displaced in the direction of the chamber geometric axis so that the wire is cut and the cut portion is supported by the step. Complicated shapes in difficult materials are formed. Welding of the wire to the chamber wall is prevented and the wire is cut automatically.
