Roll welded aluminium strip channel section - has reference marks pressed into surface for subsequent cutting or stamping operations

Channel sections for use in the construction of refrigerators and freezers cna be made from aluminium strips which are placed one upon another and welded together by rolling. The unwelded areas can be pressed to form the required section. The channel sections are formed around a former made of material which will not weld itself to the alimunium so that it can be removed after the channel sections are formed. In order to provide reference marks for subsequent manufacturing operations such as cutting or stamping, it is proposed to use the non-weldable former to form suitable markes or indentations in the channel sections.
