摘要 <p>The engine has pref. two cylinder rows turning a common crankshaft. The exhaust gases from the first cylinder row (1 to 4) are fed to a reduction catalyser (12) located in the first cylinder row exhaust gas collection pipe at low speeds. The second cylinder row (5 to 8) exhaust gas collection pipe (13) joins the first cylinder row exhaust gas collector pipe after the reduction catalyser. The gases then enter oxidisation catalyser. The cylinders in the second row (5 to 8) are not ignited at low speed. In order to achieve a balanced crankshaft working pressure, the firing order is 1.8.2.7.4.5.3.6. The crank shaft throw has only to be off set in one plane. each crankshaft throw has an ignited and non ignited piston (1 and 5 and 4 and 8) (2 and 6, 3 and 7). The crankshaft is shaped so that the two outer throws (1, 5.4.8) lie on one side and the two inner throws (2, 6, 3, 7) lie on the opposite side. The firing order on one side at low speed is then (1, 2, 4, 3).</p>
