<p>The grinding machine incorporates a rotating spring holder in the shape of a disc with a series of equi-spaced holes round its circumference. The disc moves the spring between two grinding wheels which face one another. The output of the machine depends on the number of springs which can be placed in the disc per unit of time. To speed the output of springs, the springs are shot into the disc by compressed air from a drop tube arrangement, via a two stage blocking mechanism. The drop tube has an inlet for compressed air. The blocking mechanisms are released at the same time as a valve, for the air is operated by a set of cams on the drive.</p> |
