A method is used for the production of a laminated stator. It avoids the need for an alignment groove of tapering section to be stamped so facilitating stamping and reducing tool wear. A packet of annular stampings with the necessary winding slots on the inner face has a groove of rectangular cross-section stamped along the outer perimeter, into which a clamp is inserted to align the packet; the clamp sits fast against the sides of the groove and so deforms the stamping in its neighbourhood that the side walls extend over the clamp to form a firm fixture. |
