A horizontal loading rotor moves granulated bulk between inlet (25) and outlet (29) which are of different pressure. The rotor has a number of radial chambers (2) which are enclosed by two parallel end plates. One end plate has two pairs of communicating airlines (31, 32) which allow a pressure balance between the rotor chambers. As a full chamber moves away from the loading station, it reaches the first of the balancing air lines where its internal pressure is increased. As it passes the second airline the pressure is further increased to that of the unloading station (29). In the empty chambers the pressure is reduced to that of the loading station. |
