<p>Process for preparing pyrimidinyl acetic acid derivatives which comprises treating a guanidine of the formula: NH2-C=NH ¦ R or a salt thereof, with citric acid in a strongly acidic medium, wherein R is an amino, hydrocarbylamino or dihydrocarbylamino radical, said hydrocarbyl-amino and dihydrocarbylamino radicals being unsubstituted, or substituted in the hydrocarbyl moiety with atoms or radicals which do not interfere with the process.</p> |
