A manostat which is an instrument used to maintain the pressure of a gas in a vessel constant at a reference value. The gas is contained above a liquid bath of He. The amnostat consists of a housing divided into several chambers and is linked to a vacuum pump. The chambers are separated by a diaphragm. The first and the second chamber (6, 7) are formed in an insert (4), which itself is surrounded by the membrane (15). When the pressure is below the reference, the connection between the two chambers is sealed off by the effect of the reference pressure in a third chamber.
