The flowmeter is for a heat exchanger. It measures the volume of flow or a quantity derived from it, and is intended for measurement of heat consumption in hot water heating systems. The flowmeter comprises a thermal bridge connecting the feeding and return pipes. A first pair of measurement points is allocated to one pipe, one before and the other behind the bridge. A second pair has measurement points on each pipe. An evaluation circuit formulates a quotient whose numerator is the temp. difference between the first two points and the denominator the difference between the second two points.
