<p>A hand tool such as a screw driver with a chrome plated shank is plated all over before the working blade is machined to a flat or cross end. The mechanically treated parts are finally burnished for anti-corrosion rust protection. This safeguards the blade against hydrogen embrittlement because the material, weakened by the galvanic treatment, is removed from the blade. The blade remains tough and can be stressed more highly.</p> |
