<p>High density polyethylene film for packaging where the surface is embossed with dimples (2) impressed by application to the opposite face (3) of rollers having short needles spread approx. 1 mm apart. Used for making sacks etc. with reduced tendency to slip when stacked, due to the rugosity of the dimples in all directions. The film is treated just after extrusion with a spiked roller which also produces perforations in the film at approx. 1 cm intervals. The back-pressure roll is applied at sufficiently low pressure to avoid perforation of the close-spaced dimples.</p> |
