<p>A drilling and turning machine for buttons has a rotating workpiece holder with collets for buttons and cutting tools. The latter can be set in specific positions, the collets being rotated by a device and moved in steps round the axis of that device. The collets set in rows at axial intervals and at radially equidistant angles, project from a cylindrical mounting. The cutting tools are set at intervals around the mounting, although fixed axially they can be moved radially to the mounting, and the collets hold the tool stationary. The machine has a large output because several buttons can be machined simultaneously.</p> |
