A dump truck or lift truck has the front part, on which the bucket is mounted, supported on two pairs of wheels. the rear part is supported by a further pair of wheels mounted on a frame so that it can be rotated about a vertical axis. This axis is that of a lifting cylinder, so that the vehicle can be tilted by raising the rear end. The vehicle is steered by rotating the frame by a chain drive, controlled by a vertical shaft with a handwheel at the top. The rear wheels can be the drive wheels. The two rear wheels are closer together than the front wheels. In an alternative design only one wheel is at the rear.
