The stator of the rotary capacitor consists of conductive laminations. The rotor(s) is mounted in insulating manner in relation to the stator and consists of several laminations, while air forms the dielectric. The laminations have recesses, in which are mounted insulating rotation symmetrical elements as spacers. The spacers (2) are rotatably mounted in the recesses (5). The edges of the recesses preferably form a cage in which are rotatably mounted small balls. The balls are secured by depressions, at right angles to the laminations surface and parallel to the edge of the recesses. Alternately the balls may be held by depressions at points distributed on the periphery of the recesses.
