The smooth, unformed mouth edge (2) of the container (1) is fitted with a ring (10) of a hardened moulding material. Said ring can overlap the end face (3) of the mouth edge or extend into the interior of the container aperture. The moulding material of the ring (10) is introduced, e.g. injected, between the mouth edge (2) and the cap edge (7) in the not yet hardened state, as a result of which a clean and particularly tight closure is achieved. It is possible to connect the ring (10) on the one hand firmly to the body and on the other hand releasably to the cap. <IMAGE>
