The equipment monitors and controls the degree of loading of a mass conveyor system for similar items, having a device functioning when the maximum capacity of a predetermined section of a system is approached. It has an electrical comparator or bridge circuit with an adjustable input circuit reacting to the presence and the space occupied or concentration of the items in a predetermined section of the conveyor system. If a discrepancy occurs the comparator circuit operates, emitting a signal representing the sign and the value of the discrepancy. This controls operation of the mechanism delivering the items. The adjustable input circuit can have a detector condenser whose capacity varies with the concentration of the items.
