An electrical regulator includes a digital display of required and actual valves, a setting control for the required value, an input for the actual value, and a comparator to compare the values of the input actual valve signal generated by the required valve setting control. The required value signal takes the form of a continuously variable analogue signal which is compared with the analogue actual value signal. A single digital indicator can be switched to read either the actual or required signal value.
