<p>The method is for mounting elements on a printed circuit board without soldering it, and depends on the use of suitable socket connectors and element mounting clips, and is suitable for a vibrating environment such as a vehicle. The method allows easy circuit servicing by relatively unskilled personnel. A rough U-shaped metal clip (8) is fixed through the printed circuit board (5) and has a projecting leg on the element (1) side of the board containing a T-shaped slot (11, 12). A small plastic mounting clip (13) in which the element connector (15) are mounted, can be fixed rigidly into this slot so that the connectors (15) are held firmly in a socket (19) fixed to the printed board. The element is easily replaced by manipulating the holding clip (13) in the required manner.</p> |
