1524119 Recovery of lime OLIN CORP 22 June 1976 [25 June 1975] 25908/76 Heading C1A Lime is recovered from aqueous calcium hydrochlorite solution by reaction of an alkali metal hydroxide with the solution at a pH of 11-13À5 to produce a mixture of hemi-basic calcium hypochlorite and lime particles from which the lime is recovered. The reaction temperature is suitably 10-50‹ C., and the residence time in the reaction zone prior to recovery is generally 20-180 minutes. The aqueous calcium hypochlorite solution may be obtained from the reaction of chlorine with a slurry of lime, water, and sodium hypochlorite. |
