1495591 Hot plate covers K U KALKOWSKI 10 Jan 1975 [25 Nov 1974] 1038/75 Heading F4W [Also in Division G1] A protective cover for the top plate of an electric cooker comprises a sheet of heatresistant metal foil having bulges 28, 30 formed therein which correspond in shape, size and spacing to the hot plates of said top plate. The sheet of foil is torn from a roll and pressed by hand against the hot plates to form the cover. The foil is made of aluminium or aluminium alloy. One or, as shown, two strips 36 of a temperature-indicating salt which changes colour at a temperature of approximately 400‹ C. are applied to the foil so as to extend in use over the hot plates. The salt may be NH 4 MnP 2 O 7 . |
