1495446 Grooved cylinder and follower units TOYODA JIDOSHOKKI SEISAKUSHO KK 20 Feb 1975 [27 Feb 1974] 7114/75 Heading DIJ The present invention relates to an apparatus having a common friction roller 4, Fig. 1 for rotating a plurality of bobbins 2 or thread packages 3; a traverse device comprising a cam box 7 having a pair of guide rails 8, 9 that define between them a slot that is parallel to the bobbins 2; and at least a pair of thread guides 10c, 10d, Fig. 4 slidably mounted between said guide rails 8, 9. According to the invention a common traverse cam 6 is rotatably mounted in the cam box 7. the cam 6 having at least a pair of helical endless guide grooves A, B in its surface Fig. 3 a ring-shaped guide groove 20 between each pair of helical grooves A, B and an auxiliary guide groove 24a, 24b connecting each helical groove A, B to one of the intermediate ring-shaped guide grooves 20. The guide rails 8, 9 and cover plates 11, 12 that may be added to keep dust out, are cut away as at 8a, 11a in the region of the groove 20. When the cam followers 10c, 10d are worn out the cam 6 is rotated in the direction Y and the cam followers then leave the helical grooves via the auxiliary guide grooves 24a, 24b and enter the ring shaped guide groove 20. The cam followers 10c, 10d are then removed via the cut away region 8a of the rail 8 and 11a of the plate 11 and are replaced by fresh cam followers. |
