ELECTRIC SWITCH WITH LOCK

1495471 Locking switches E MARQUARDT J MARQUARDT H MARQUARDT and E MARQUARDT [trading as J & J MARQUARDT] 4 March 1975 [7 March 1974] 8971/75 Heading H1N A locking switch comprises a push-button 2 which is located in the actuated position by a locking element 13 which engages an extension 8 of the push-button 2, the element 13 being mounted in the bore 14. On depressing the button against a restoring spring (not shown) the part 8 enters the bracket 4 to allow the T-piece 17 of the locking element 13 to be pressed through the aperture 12 of part 8. On releasing the push-button it moves out sufficiently to engage the bar 11 on the part 8 over one end of the T-piece. Depressing the button disengages the bar 11 from the T-piece to allow the element 13 to be pressed upwards by a restoring spring (not shown) to draw the T-piece clear of the bar 11 and unlock the switch. The switch housing is injection moulded from plastics.
