The bush has splines 4 to engage splines of the shaft and a groove 5 in which an annular bead of the shaft engages for axial retention of the handle. The bush can alternatively have an annular bead, and the shaft a groove. The shaft may be polygonal rather than splined, with the bush 1 having a complementary shape. The ring which clamps the half-journals 3a, 3b together rotates thereon and constitutes a knob. The lever can be of metal or plastics material or can be of metal covered in foam plastics material. The handle may wind a window in a motor vehicle, or may be a spoke of a steering wheel. |
