The automatic roller-shutter safety device for roller-shutters, the slats (18, 21) of which can be moved apart from one another by a fixed amount, affords protection against unauthorised opening of the roller shutter by, in the event of an attempt to push the slats up, holding at least one of the slats securely. To this end, it has a catch lever (11) which is mounted pivotably in a stationary place and which, in its locking position, engages positively with a locking nose (12) in a recess (22) of one of the roller-shutter slats (21). This catch lever (11) is assigned a control element which interacts with one of the roller-shutter slats (18) which is situated above the slat (21) held securely by the catch lever (11). The control element is likewise mounted pivotably in a stationary place and designed as a lever (15) provided with a control nose (16). The catch lever (11) pivots the control lever (15) into a position, in which the control nose (16) engages in a recess (19) of that slat (18) with which the control lever interacts. The profile of the control nose (16) is designed on its underside (17) in such a manner that the nose (16) is moved out of the recess (19) if the roller shutter is drawn up by rotating its winding-up shaft. When the control noses (16) emerge from the recess of the slat, the control lever (15) pivots the catch lever (11) into its release position, in which the catch nose (12) is out of engagement with the associated slat (21). <IMAGE>
