The detector operates using the Doppler principle. It uses a transmitter and a receiver; it is excited by an oscillator and it receives and processes the signal reflected by the object, whose frequency is shifted. The signal is evaluated over amplification in an amplifier with automatic gain control. Two parallel transducers are mounted at a right angle to each other in a screening housing with suitable bevellings or roundings. The mounting is designed so that when the housing is mounted horizontally or vertically, radiation beams from the ultrasonic transducers are not perpendicular to vertical and/or horizontal surfaces or walls.
