Vertical conveyor for loading and unloading esp. ships carrying piece goods is designed to enable goods of different size to be handles while avoiding differential speed between the two conveyor belts which are used and without deforming sack-like goods. An endless vertically running conveyor band (30) passes between guide rollers. An elastic clamping band (40) is endless form passes around guide rollers (41, 42) and is aligned with the conveyor band. The directions of rotation of both bands are the same in the resion of the opposing band strands (35, 46). At their lower ends the two bnds diverge from one another to form an inlet mouth (50) for the goods. |
