Tomography appts. comprises an X-ray measuring assembly (1, 2), consisting of an X-ray source and detector, with a frame for rotating it about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the body section. A transducer for converting the detector signals to a body section image is connected, as is also an X-Ray generator, to the meauring assembly by cables (K). The calbes are wound spirally like a clock spring around a drum (5) and fixed to a spring band (12) parallel to the cables. These together with the spring band are attached to a stationary support (13) and to the drum and on the drum itself. The cable length between the two points of attachment is equal to the desired angle of rotation of the measuring assembly.
