Light-sensitive screen for electrography - has transparent insulating coating over photoconductive layer on conductive mesh

Light-sensitive screen for electrographic appts. has an electrically conducting mesh and a photoconducting layer and can modulate a (corona) ionic stream, through an electrostatic latent image. The mesh has a photoconductive coating and a thin transparent insulating coating, which prevents decay of the electrostatic image as a result of deflection of the ionic stream. The insulating coating pref. consits of resins (epoxide, polyurethane, acrylic, polyester, vinyl chloride, silicone etc.), inorganic cpds. (MgF2, SiO2, SiO etc.) and high-mol. polymers (po-y-p-xylene, polymethyl methacrylate, polyn-butyl methacrylate, polyethyl silicate, polystyrene, PTFE etc.). Numerous copies can be made.
