<p>A packaging system is used to enclose a cardboard box or packet inside two sheets of plastics foil, then welding all round the edges. Instead of applying adhesive first to the two sheets or to the two sides of the cardboard, the adhesive is applied at first to one sheet only. The packet is then held against the adhesive coated surface and further adhesive applied to the other side of the packet. Then the second foil sheet is brought into contact with the adhesive coated side and finally the edges welded. This method is used to suit the automatic packaging equipment employed.</p> |
