The vehicle seat is supported on scissors type of levers with one end of each lever hinged on the seat or floor frame and the other end with a sliding fit. The spring is attached to an angled lever (19) pivoted on one of the levers, with the free arm resting on a cam (32) on the floor mounting. The angled lever enables the spring to be mounted at a shallow angle and with a longer length. The longer length spring provides a more controlled suspension with a softer characteristic and greater comfort.
