The electric motor (11) is bolted by a flange (11a) to the disc (21) which is in turn fixed to the cable drum (13) and to the internally toothed ring (15). The motor shaft (11b) is keyed to the pinion (17) which meshes with the planet wheel (16). The planet wheel (16) also meshes with the internally toothed ring (15) and the fixed internally toothed gear (14). The number of teeth in the toothed ring (15) is one less than the number in the gear wheel (14). The planet wheel (16) has no spindle but is guided by its end faces abutting against the raised rims (18a, 21a) of the internally toothed gears. This arrangement of gears gives a very high reduction ratio in a very compact installation.
