<p>The automatic feeder enables domestic pets to obtain food during the absence of their owners. It comprises a circular tray, divided radially into twelve compartments. On this is a cover with an aperture opening one compartment at a time. An electric motor and reduction gearbox (7) in the centre turns (8) a cam (13) once per hour, moving one of twelve teeth (11) on a disc (10). Twice per day, a spring stop (24) is released by a peg (25) and a follower (27) moves up a ramp (28). A spring loaded (20, 21, 22) top plate (17) is driven by frictional contact and, in turn rotates the cover to uncover the food.</p> |
