Fluorescent pigment comprises a combination of yellow-to green-fluorescent pigments(I) based on melamine resins and yellow- to green-phosphorescent pigments(IIe based on zinc sulphide and/or zinc calcium sulphide. Used in paints, coatings and coloured plastics used fo safety markings, e.g. for walls, steps, vehicles, signs, clothing etc. The pigments are equally conspicuous under various lighting conditions. Pref. (I) contains highly light-fast dyestuffs of the 10-methoxybenzoxanthene type. The pigment contains 0.5-50, pref. 3-12 wt.% (I).
