<p>Appts. for the transfer of an additive permitting the transfer of a soln. under sterile conditions to an evacuated receiver, comprising (a) a receiver enclosing the solution to be maintained and transferred, in sterile conditions, (b) a closure member fixed to, and closing the neck of, the receiver and comprising a plug with a perforatable diaphragm, which seals off the neck opening. (c) a guide element with a central hole opposite the diaphragm in which a perforating device with axial channel and a point at each end can slide between a first position in which it can enter the evacuated receiver by passing through the plug therefore and a second position after it has pierced the membrane of the plug of the receiver containing the additive, in such a way as to establish communication between the interiors of the two receivers and permit the transfer of the soln. from the additive receiver to the evacuated receiver. Thus a simple assembly for adding an additive e.g. a medicament to e.g. an intravenous fluid, under completely sterile conditions, is provided.</p> |
